Large Urban Areas and Commercial Developments

Automatic trash and collection is viable alternative for projects where large numbers of people live or congregate.

  • Urban projects in city centers and suburbs

  • Airports

  • Sport stadiums and arenas

  • Shopping centers and malls

The Pneulogix automatic trash collection system solves the growing problem of waste management when large amounts of trash is generated in a very short time.

New concepts and innovative control systems reduce trash collection costs for small and large installations, producing labor-saving, environmentally sound and hygienic results.

The advantages of an automatic trash collection system are proven:

       •    Improves economic return versus conventional waste collection techniques.

       •    Simplifies trash disposal for residents, visitors and business owners.

       •    Facilitates user compliance in the collection and recycling of up to four materials.

       •    No overflowing trash bins on the street or in alleys.

       •    No noisy trucks driving through the neighborhood, night and day.

       •    No odiferous trash on the streets or in the alleys.

       •    Environmentally superior.

A Pneulogix® system automatically and invisibly collects trash from all residential and commercial buildings, restaurants, offices, hotels, hospitals, street-side and public areas within a development, increasing user convenience substantially while lowering collection costs.

New systems are being designed for projects in Europe, Israel and the Far East today where urban population concentrations and environmental concerns are high.

New installations are also being developed for high-end resorts and golf course communities where convenience and good urban services are expected and highly valued.

Simple Operation

A typical commercial development in the United States is expansive.  Tons of trash are generated every day in restaurants, hotels, residences, office buildings and public areas. Disposal of the trash requires containers that are usually located on the street or in alleys.  Every several days, a truck is scheduled to pick up or empty the container.  Organic materials spoil and cause offensive odors. Spillage is unsightly.  Accessible containers are safety hazards.  Trucks travel the streets adding traffic and generate noise and exhaust pollution during the day and night.

Especially where labor markets are tight, this routine collection process can be very expensive.

An automatic trash collection system eliminates these expensive, contaminating, polluting and inconvenient problems.  With intake doors on every floor in every building and street-side boxes in public areas, residents, business employees and visitors easily place bagged trash into the automatic system.  The bags are temporarily stored in underground bins and then are transported through underground stainless steel pipes, at high speed, to the central trash collection area—safely and hygienically—up to a mile away.

Stainless steel intake doors allow for easy removal of trash from many restaurants, businesses, residential buildings and other points throughout the development.

Cast aluminum, street-side receptacles are user-friendly and are color coded for each recycled material.

At the central trash collection area, which is usually in a remote location in the development, the trash is collected, compacted and placed into containers for remote truck pick up.  The process is complete with high user convenience, minimal human contact and significantly reduced environmental impact.

Low Cost by Design

The Pneulogix® system employs a new concept in its computer-controlled operation to routinely save operating costs and boost system efficiency.  Using the latest, state-of-the-art processors and specially designed software, the system senses multiple users and methodically collects extraordinarily large amounts of material in a short time period.  During peak use periods, the system outperforms any other trash collection system available, lowering costs and eliminating waiting time.

The control system also senses activity level and adjusts its operation to meet specific user demand.  When activity is low, the system ramps down to a low operating level, saving energy costs.  When activity is high, the system automatically operates at an efficient level, balancing its work with the unique demand of intake points throughout the hospital.

The net result of these innovative features is higher efficiency and lower costs.

Typical Components

  • 18” x 18” stainless steel intake doors, with electric interlocks, located throughout buildings within the project.
  • Cast aluminum street-side intake units, color coded by recyclable material type.
  • 6mm. thick underground stainless steel collecting pipe to transport trash to the central collection area over a mile away.
  • A central collection area with high efficiency ventilators to generate moving air for the collection of trash.
  • Disk-type air control valves located throughout system to manage air flow.
  • Air particulate filter to clean collecting air before venting to the environment
  • High ratio trash compactors and containers to hold trash for truck pick up.
  • Control processor and software for operating and monitoring system
  • Small area required for central collection area.
