Trash and Linen Collection Systems for Hospitals

Automatic trash and soiled linen collection are proven money savers for even small hospitals.  Such systems, proven effective in large hospital, with new concepts and innovative control systems, reduce costs for smaller installations while still producing labor-saving and hygienic results.

The advantages of an automatic trash and soiled linen collection system are proven:

•      Lowers housekeeping costs

•      Eliminates cross-contamination

•      Minimizes human contact

•      Reduces hallway congestion

•      Environmentally superior.

 The Problem

A typical hospital in the United States is multi-floored and expansive, making collection tons of soiled linen and general hospital waste very labor intensive and time consuming.  Especially where labor markets are tight, this routine collection process can be very expensive.  Frequently transported in laundry and trash carts, soiled linen and trash often ride in elevators with patients, staff and visitors.

The Solution

An Pneulogix® automatic linen and trash collection system eliminates these expensive, cross-contaminating problems.  With intake doors on every floor and throughout the hospital, housekeeping staff easily places bagged linen and trash into the automatic system.  The bags are transported through stainless steel pipes, at high speed, to the central laundry or the trash collection area—safely and hygienically.

Stainless steel intake doors allow for easy removal of linen and trash from many points throughout the hospital.

At the laundry, the soiled linen is collected and placed into the washing process.  The trash, transported to the central collection area, is compacted and contained for truck pickup.  Both processes are completed with minimal human contact, eliminating employee exposure.

Low Cost by Design

The Pneulogix® system employs a new concept in its computer-controlled operation to routinely save operating costs and boost system efficiency.  Using the latest, state-of-the-art processors and specially designed logic, the system senses multiple users and methodically collects extraordinarily large amounts of material in a short time period.  During peak use periods, the system outperforms any other trash and linen collection system available, lowering costs and eliminating waiting time.

The control system also senses activity level and adjusts its operation to meet specific user demand.  When activity is low, the system ramps down to a low operating level, saving energy costs.  When activity is high, the system automatically operates at an efficient level, balancing its work with the unique demand of intake points throughout the hospital.

The net result of these innovative features is higher efficiency and lower cost.

Typical Components
